4 tips for the Street Photographer

Getting started with street photography might not be the easiest thing, gathering the courage to dare to photograph strangers out on the town. But practice makes perfect, and we have some tips to help you along the way, together with street photographer Mats Alfredsson.

1. Make sure to always have your camera ready
Having the lens cap on is a big no no. Then you easily miss the moments that arise and pass in a second.

2. Push yourself beyond the limit and shoot on instinct
Don't think too much, then there is a big risk that you will miss the opportunity and the picture you had in mind.

3. Strive to create presence in your images
You should almost feel the scents, be able to take the picture. How do you do this then? One way is to use a wide-angle lens, which forces you to get closer and make the image more exciting.

4. You don't have to understand, you just have to feel
You don't need to explain your photograph to anyone, let them think about it and feel instead. An interesting photo leaves no one untouched.
